I know you can buy slates that are for the bigger dots I think on braille book or on maxyaids

yes, they are called jumbo Braille slates.
I want a slate called a micro braille slate where the dots are closer together.
I know you used to be able to get them in Germany, but don't know where.

Here is a websight that sells a wide veriaty of slates and some are Micro you just have to look a bit down the list.
